December 2013 newsletter
Holiday Potluck:
Monday, December 9th saw the occurrence of Tenino FFA’s annual Holiday Potluck. Members and their families gathered in the Tenino high School Library to celebrate the wonderful holiday spirit. In addition to being together and eating great food, we also had other fun activities. Members and guests were each encouraged to bring a small gift in order to participate in our white elephant gift exchange. We also handed out verses of “Twelve Days of Christmas” and each sang a part to make up the whole song. Overall, the evening was fun and full of holiday spirit! |
Winterfest:
This year on Saturday, December 7th, Tenino High School hosted Winterfest. Local venders were able to set up booths in the High School gym and community members came in to participate in the fun holiday shopping. Tenino FFA set up a booth to sell the wreaths, swags, and other holiday decorations that the members had been working hard to make over the previous week. Members came in to set up and decorate the booth, talk to customers, and sell the wreaths and other decorations. All in all, it was lots of fun and many of our decorations were sold to happy customers. |
Holiday House:
On Saturday and Sunday, December 21st-22nd, Tenino FFA put on our wonderful Holiday House. We gathered toys and set them up in the Ag room to be available for families who couldn't afford them.
Our Ag room was filled to the brim with toys donated and purchased with money donated by the Tenino Lions Club. Families registered by the Tenino Food Bank came in on Saturday and Sunday to pick out toys, stocking stuffers, clothes, and games for free that they could give to their kids for the holidays. By the end, nearly every item had been given to go to a happy child. Overall, it was a fun way to help out the community members in need and brighten a few people’s holidays.
