April 2014
Ag Day
Wednesday April 23rd marked the annual AG day for Tenino FFA. Fifth Graders traveled over to the High School from Tenino Elementary School to learn about the joys of agriculture and what we have to offer in that department of the High school. Members manned a few stations and showed the fifth graders animals and facts about them (animal agriculture), how to make ice cream (science), how to plant and care for a seed (horticulture), how to wrap and arrange a simple corsage (floral design), and a bit about welding. By the end of the activities, the kids had filled out their information packets and had a great time! |
District III Banquet
On the evening of April 30th, three of our members traveled to Rochester high school to attend the District III FFA Banquet. Two members, Courtney Pendergast and Mary Cantrell, attended as delegates to vote for the new District Officers. The other Tenino Member in attendance, your very own Chapter Reporter, was applying to be District Officer. Having gone through a few tests and an interview process the week before, the candidates gave their speeches and, after awards and dinner, among other things, the new officers were chosen. From Tenino FFA, your reporter was presented with the position of District III Treasurer! |
